About The Author

Red Herring has been involved with IT project management for more years than he cares to remember. In that time he’s implemented many projects successfully and one or two that didn’t do too well.

The following is a list of excuses for not implementing a project on time, to budget, to quality, or at all:

  • Lack of training for staff, project manager, user, stakeholders
  • Bad estimating in the first place
  • Ostrich in the sand senior management
  • Team members “misleading” each other
  • Poor communcations
  • Geographically spread teams
  • Poor resource allocation
  • Bad planning
  • Inadequate specifications

Obviously the list goes on, and on. But those are my favourites!

I love coaching other people to success which is why I’ve started this blog. Whether I can post to it weekly I can’t say at the moment.
